About Cody

I live and work on unceded Wurundjeri Country of the Kulin Nations, and I pay deep respect to Elders past, present and emerging. I acknowledge the ongoing impacts of colonisation and the strength, wisdom and sovereignty of First Nations peoples.

As a white, cisgender male settler, I recognise the privileges that shape my experiences and access to certain spaces. At the same time, growing up in the country as a gay neurodivergent kid in a heteronormative and neurotypical-centred society has brought its own challenges—experiences of exclusion, invisibility and navigating assumptions that don't fit who I am. These complexities inform how I hold space for others—gently, respectfully, and with care for the many intersecting identities and stories we all carry.

Through the arts—whether painting, writing, photography or creative play—I’ve found pathways to explore the many layers of identity in meaningful and embodied ways. Since childhood, creativity has been both a joy and a refuge, helping me to regulate, reflect, and feel more connected.

Spending time outdoors, especially in green spaces, is my most replenishing self-care practice. Being in the bush—both with others and solo—grounds me and deepens my sense of connection with the world. This relationship with the natural world continues to be nourished by my studies in ecotherapy. I’ve also practised meditation and Reiki since 2010, and incorporate mindfulness into many aspects of life and work.

My mission is to provide a safe, inclusive and supportive space that nurtures creative self-expression, connection and empowerment—leading to greater insight, agency, growth and wholeness. I’m guided by values including authenticity, agency, courage, creativity and connection.

I aim to co-create community spaces where it's not only okay to be seen and heard, but where we celebrate the rich, unique and diverse expressions and lived experiences of those who’ve been excluded or marginalised. This spirit of community extends to the environment and the more-than-human world. I believe in the transformative power of creativity, connection and compassion—and the importance of spaces where all of who we are is welcome.

My Approach

It is a privilege and honour to journey alongside participants as a fellow traveller. As a trauma informed, creative arts and counsellor, I work in an invitational, collaborative way that positions you as the expert in your own life. Rather than “fixing” or advising, I gently co-create a non-judgemental environment that allows you to come back to yourself to access the inner wisdom that is already present within you.
My practice is informed by Humanistic, Gestalt, Rogerian, Transpersonal and Phenomenological approaches, interwoven with eco and arts-based therapeutic processes that nurture self-expression, introspection, and transformation. Working within an integrated, holistic framework, I consider all aspects of an individual including the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. Through creativity, we can access a form of listening that goes beyond words—tuning into the body, the unconscious, and the deeper narratives that inform our experiences.
I offer a variety of services with different ways to access them. I look forward to and welcome the opportunity to share this space with you - to create, reflect, and journey alongside one another in a process of growth and discovery.
